These shots concentrate more on the new equipment at Northfield and especially the newly painted and spiffed up SD38-2 #42. With the paint newly applied and waxed the unit was positively gleaming on a somewhat overcast afternoon.

Not long after I took my last shot I saw one of the crew applying wax or polishing the rear of the locomotive with a rag.
